Ukrainian pronouns ЦЕЙ and ТОЙ are called вказівні (demonstrative pronouns). It means they are used to point to some object, either close by (ЦЕЙ ― this) or at some distance (ТОЙ ― that). Mastering these fundamental pronouns is essential for Ukrainian learners.
These demonstrative pronouns act similarly to adjectives, changing their forms and adapting to the number, gender, and case of a noun.
